Hello, I’m Dorji, Dorji Dhradhul, your voice behind Thunder Dragon Explorer. I value being a good human being, a loving father, and a devoted husband. I cherish every moment with my wife Deki, daughter Lablu, and son Myaeo.

With a passion for reading, writing, and traveling, I’ve authored three books. My novel, Escapades Awakening, delves into the harsh lives of women and children, celebrating their spirit of survival and strength. My non-fiction book, Hercules of Tongchudrak, explores how to build a great nation through the heartfelt participation of all its citizens. And my travelogue, Bhutan the Kingdom of Mindfulness: Your Sojourn to Serenity, Spirituality, and Sustainability, invites readers to experience the tranquil beauty of Bhutan.

I’ve journeyed to all 20 districts and over 100 gewogs, and I’m fluent in the major dialects of Bhutan. During my five years leading Bhutan’s National Tourism Organization, Bhutan was recognized as the Best Country to Visit in 2020 by Lonely Planet. We also won awards for Best Destination for Happy Tourism and Best Professional Destination Marketing, received the Sustainable Destinations’ Earth Award in Berlin, and were recognized as one of the World’s 75 Most Innovative Organizations in Tourism Policy by Apolitical in partnership with Mastercard and the United Nations World Tourism Organization.
